The Takarazuka Revue

Established in 1913, the Takarazuka Revue held its first performance in 1914 and now enjoys worldwide popularity thanks to its gorgeous and large-scale performances which feature all-female casts. There are a total of 5 performing troupes named Flower, Moon, Snow, Star, and Cosmos, and each troupe has representative stars for both male and female roles. Among the performances that can be enjoyed are Western and Japanese style musicals, revues and shows.

The performances are made more dramatic through music performed by a live orchestra, The Grand Staircase and trap doors, among other secrets. And energizing song and dance combined with amazing costumes create spectacular performances. Especially captivating is the charm of the actresses, particularly of those playing the male roles. All the performances (held in Japanese) offer an exciting, fun-filled experience for audiences every time.
